RevoluciĆ³n de Cuba

Prepare for a whole lotta rum love...

I went along to a little preview of the brand spankin' new Revolucion de Cuba that has just opened up in the city centre, and I can't lie, I had an absolute ball!

Revolucion de Cuba is all about the Cuban fiesta coming to Glasgow. It's a party. With Latin-American inspired food and an amazing selection of cocktails. This is a place that's all about completely relaxing and having the best time.

The Havana inspired deco really sets the scene of the place, with the live band adding to the wonderfully relaxed salsa ambience.

On the night we were all completely spoiled and it as fabulous!

To begin with we all got a taste of the food that Revolucion de Cuba has on offer - and it hinted at great things to come!

"Cuban food is a melting pot, a fusion of flavours from Spain, Mexico and South America cooked up in dishes inspired by the backstreet bars of Havana."

Therefore, we kicked the evening off with a bit of spice.

After smelling all the rich and wonderful spices we tried some beautiful pulled pork that had been marinated in a fabulous mixture. Then it was our turn! We got the opportunity to make our own delicious mix with all the spices that we'd tried out, mixing and them up in our own concoctions. I can't wait to try out the spices at home and taste all these amazing flavours again.

Next up was rum club!

Revolucion de Cuba is all about the rum and this is where things got giggly. The rum-experts took us through a selection of rums, talking about each of their histories and individual stories. They had some incredible knowledge and it was really interesting to hear them talk about something they're obviously passionate about. I've done a little bit of wine and whisky tasting before, but it was so much fun to try something new!

Then came the mountains of food...

We were treated to an absolute feast of Latin-inspired tapas. I mean the mouth-watering food just kept arriving. Every single morsel was absolutely delicious and I could've eaten every last scrap! There was everything from nachos, quesadillas, potatas braves and everything in between. The food lived up to all my expectations and rounded off the most fantastic evening.

Revolucion de Cuba is a little gem in Glasgow. It's just so much fun and has the perfect balance of being a bit of a party and also being oh so relaxed The ambience is just perfect. It's definitely going to  be my place to go for a giggly, cocktail-fuelled evening with the girls!

Thanks so much to Revolucion de Cuba for having me along, it was absolutely fabulous! I can't wait to go back and see the place filled up with everyone chatting, dancing - and enjoying rum of course!

The Kelbourne Saint

If you like chicken and beer (who doesn't!) then you have to try out Kelbourne Saint!

I went along to the Press Launch of Kelbourne Saint and have never looked at chicken in the same way since. Think succulent chicken spinning on a rotisserie, with the most delicious beer as an accompaniment...

But lets get back to basics.

Kelbourne Saint is the latest brainchild of Kained Holdings. They transformed the out on Queen Margaret Drive that was made famous in the iconic film 'Trainspotting' into the perfect place to while away a weekend afternoon. They specialise in natural produce and definitely fulfil Kained's aim to 'surprise and delight' especially with the mouth-watering rotisserie on full display!

Kained Holdings MD Graham Suttle commented: "Drinking and dining at the Kelbourne Saint will be a change in style from our other restaurants, but with the same commitment to ethically sourced, sustainable produce. Our aim is to bring people together and enjoy our new menu, family style. Our chickens have had time to grow slowly and roam free on Scottish farms, meaning they have had time to develop the finest flavour and texture."

This care for where their food comes from is evident in the skill and taste put into the food. It's simply spectacular.

And what adds the finishing touches to Kelbourne Saint? The beer tank!

This is WEST Brewery's first and only tank beer system and it serves up their very own brand beer, Apache Pilsner. Now I do enjoy a beer every now and again, but I would never consider myself a 'beer-drinker', however I could sip on this beer all afternoon! It's not too heavy to drink and has a really crisp taste. It's so fresh and light, just really delicious.

The polished copper tank, as well as producing amazing beer, also adds to the contemporary, yet rustic aesthetic of the place, fitting in perfectly with the look of the bar. Plus being found a stones throw away from the bar it's also the freshest beer you can drink, meaning you get a properly good quality pint!

Now let's just all take a moment to appreciate the food...

The rotisserie is just amazing and I've never seen anything like it in Glasgow! It's the first thing you see when you walk in and your stomach starts rumbling straight away. When the door opens the amazing smell just hits you. Full chickens drenched in the tank beer spin, dripping down onto pineapples, which in turn drip-drop their juices onto veal and then eventually roasting vegetables pick up all the flavours. Are you drooling yet?

And the beauty of it? You can put anything you like on the spit! I really liked the idea of doing the 'Bird of the Day', meaning you'll get something different every time you go in. You can feast on the lip-smacking chicken, try a bit of pork loin or even go for a bit of octopus, ordering directly from the rotisserie. Just a dream.

It's the perfect place to waste a weekend afternoon and I can't wait to go back!

Thanks so much for having me along! That chicken made my life....

John Lewis Christmas Wonderland

There's nothing better than the most gorgeous Christmas decorations and Glasgow Loves Christmas just as much as I do!

If you can't turn your house into a glittering grotto at Christmas when can you! And I know where you should head to make all your Christmas decoration dreams come true!

John Lewis in Buchanan Galleries, is here with their simply fabulous Christmas Shop to give you everything you need to make your home into the beautiful Christmas wonderland. When you step off the escalator you're just engulfed in Christmas - it's amazing!

I'll confess now. I'm a total sucker for Christmas. I love everything about it and I could spend hours and hours browsing Christmas decorations. There's just so many baubles to love!

John Lewis break everything down into themes for you so that you can pick out the exact look for your tree that you want. There's.....

Ruskin House: A beautiful traditional theme that evokes ye olde Christmasses gone by. It draws on heritage designs, hints of nature and rich colours.

Snowshill: "I'm dreaming of a white christmas..." this is a fabulous white, wintery theme. The gentle glowing decorations bring the calm of a snowy setting inside.

Ostravia: This is one for luxury lovers. It's all about extravagance with opulent golds and sugared pastels. It's perfectly eccentric and flamboyant!

Chamonix: This one is for lovers of the mountains. Imagine yourself cozied away in an alpine chalet, snow falling outside onto the mountains, hot chocolate in hand.

Helsinki: Drawing on the beautiful calm of a Scandinavian winter this collection is all about muted colours and sophisticated metallics. Perfectly stylish.

We were all lucky enough to choose our own bauble to hang on our trees at home and I had to go for one from the Chamonix collection! It will be perfect for when I jet off to Switzerland to spend Christmas with my family in the mountains, skis resting at the door and the snow floating outside. I love the alpine red and white designs and can't wait to surprise my Mum with a beautiful addition to the tree!

Everything in the John Lewis Christmas shop is just stunning. It's all so beautiful, from the berry covered wreaths to the scent of the Christmas trees hanging in the air. It's your one stop shop in Glasgow for decorating your home like the Christmas grotto of dreams.

I had the most festive afternoon in John Lewis picking out beautiful Christmas decorations! Thank you so much for having me and to Glasgow Loves Christmas for inviting me along!

I'm Not Getting Dressed Today

I think we should all just take 5 minutes out of our day to appreciate pyjama shirts.

They are just fabulous aren't they! I mean I'm all for wearing your pyjamas every day and with this amazing trend that's been doing the rounds at the moment you really can! This shirt really does look like it could've been found next to the slippers and that's kinda why I love it so much.

The silky navy blue and white piping make it look like a classic pyjama top, but with just a touch more shape added it's one that you'll actually love wearing out of the house.

On this particular night my sister and I were popping out for a fabulous night at the theatre dahling! We headed to the West End and took our seats for Mamma Mia. So much fun by the way!

The pyjama style top is perfect for dressing up a little - just so you don't feel like you've actually rolled right out of bed. A slick of bright lipstick can do the trick and also add on a pair of heels, much classier than slippers. Yet, I still kinda want to style it with Mom jeans and chunky white trainers. It's a top that really puts in the work.

I went for some skinny jeans and classic black heels - staples we all know and love!

It also needs a jacket... cue the trench!

A classic style pyjama skirt is screaming out for a timeless trench. I love pulling this trench on over whatever works. It's just so easy! It makes me feel all classic and chic and like I can pretend I'm in a Chanel or Burberry advert of summin. It immediately just makes me feel all kinds of fabulous.

Definitely invest in a trench coat if you don't already have one!

And voila - there you have the pyjama top. Quite literally the best think you can go out and buy just now.

A Walk in the Park

Find a a perfectly sunny day and head to the park!

Ok, so I'll admit these photos were taking a little while ago before the weather turned bitterly cold - buuuuuuut just add some extra layers and maybe have lunch inside and you've still got a pretty perfect day in the park. In fact there's something really nice about getting out and about on a really crisp, but perfectly sunny winters day.

But, back to this lovely little way to while away an afternoon.

When I was visiting my sister in London we woke up to a fabulously sunny Autumnal day and decided the best place to spend it would be Hyde Park!

So off we trotted...

And once there we discovered that the ground was wonderfully carpeted in golden, bronze and red falling leaves. Perfect for a little bit of kicking about.

This is definitely a day for comfy footwear and I love these trainers at the minute! I confess I've never been much of a trainers-wearer, but recently I just love them! All I want to add to my shoe cupboard is pairs and pairs of trainers. I have no idea where the obsession has come from, but my feet are definitely happy.

Weekends away are also all about clever packing. So I had popped my all time favourite 'Mom' jeans into the suitcase, knowing that I would wear them again and again throughout the weekend. It's also rare that I'm seen out of the house without a striped top, so of course one had to be thrown into the mix. Then my new favourite brilliantly mustard leather jacket to spice things up a bit and you're good to go!

We played about in the leaves until out tummies started rumbling and we found a spot at the Serpentine Bar and Kitchen.

Cheers to blue skies!

And can we just all take a moment to appreciate the fabulous pulled pork burgers that they served up.

Feasting on these and sipping on beer whilst watching the world go by through the park has to be one of the most blissful afternoons ever had.

All that's left to do is have a wander round to ease a full belly!

Admire the flowers and just revel in having the loveliest lazy day in the park.
