Liebster Award

The lovely Sophh-Skii nominated me for a Liebster Award and I was delighted to oblige - answering questions all about fashion, beauty and blogging!

But what is this award I hear you cry!

Well all you have to do is this....
  • Answer the questions that you were nominated to
  • Nominate 11 bloggers in return, who have under 200 followers on Twitter
  • Think up 11 nosey questions for them to answer!

So let's get started, here's my questions....

1. You can only choose two lip colours to wear ever again. What shades would they be? Be specific I want to know brands and shades.

Rimmel Coral In Gold - I find myself living in the shade in the summer, it's so easy to slick on with anything and adds an instant shimmer of sunshine to any look. Perfect with bronzed skin, it's all you need!

Barry M 156 London UK - I do love a red lip, but sometimes I find that it's just a little too obvious, so instead I think a really deep berry is gorgeous. I'll swap my coral for this shade as the weather gets a bit chiller. A bold looks is amazing with monochrome outfits and you can't go wrong with this one.

Six months wear for each - you only need two lip colours!

2. In your opinion, what's the best and worst thing about blogging?

One of my favourite things about blogging is when I get lovely feedback from readers. When I started I wasn't sure if people would enjoy it, as to start it's always people you know that are the main audience, so this did make me nervous! However, getting lovely feedback  is so encouraging and the best bit is knowing that people are enjoying it as much as I do! And of course, sharing things that make me smile is a pretty good part!

The worst bit is probably the little pangs of guilt when I know I've been lazy. I so admire bloggers that keep content coming thick and fast, but sometimes life just takes over! With this little late-blog-anxiety sometimes it seems like a chore, but as soon as I sit down and get on with it this all goes away!

3. Are you a Disney fan? If so name your top Disney films?

My favourite Disney film, ahhhh where do I even start? We had a cupboard absolutely bursting at the seams with Disney classics when myself and my sisters were younger. I loved Beauty and the Beast, dancing teapots in an enchanted castle! And The Aristocats with jazzy singing cats! There is simply no way I could only pick one favourite!

4. Would you rather only be allowed to use eye products or lip products?

Ouch, that's a toughy! I do have a huge collection of lipsticks and I love a bright, bold lip or a moody and dark one. However, I do have to say that day-to-day I simply can't go without a slick of mascara and a bit of eyeliner. So, I suppose I'm going to have to say eye products! I definitely feel a lil bit naked without some coating on my lashes, so maybe I'll have to live without the red lips...

5. Name your 3 seasonal fashion staples.

SPRING - light-weight flowery scarves, pastel skinny jeans, the perfect pair of ballet pumps and anything with stripes!
SUMMER - denim shorts, brown leather sandals, a flowery crown for festivals and a pretty summer dress.
AUTUMN - black skinny jeans, studded black ankle boots, tartan shirts and fedora hats.
WINTER - massive wrap-around scarves, leather (look) trousers, a big oversized teddy coat and anything with sequins goes!

6. What's the quote that you live by?

"A girl should be two things - classy and fabulous" - Coco Chanel

Or just anything that Coco said really...

7. Which part of your getting ready routine do you dread doing?

Hmmm maybe just the thought of it! Especially in winter when you're all snuggled up on the couch, steaming mug of tea in your hand and a good movie on the telly - you just don't want to move! However, once I get going it's all ok.

That or drying my hair - I can't stand drying my hair, it takes so darn long!

8. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?

"Stop worrying so much!"

I'm a worrier and I need to stop.

9. What are your guilty pleasures?

Chocolate biscuits and awful TV. I could watch Keeping Up With The Kardashians and The Real Housewives of Beverley Hills for hours and hours on end, with a massive packet of biscuits in one hand, of course.

10. What's your favourite thing to go for the salon for? If you don't visit salons what's your favourite at home pamper treat?

Going to get your hair done is a simple one, but it's really nice! People playing with your hair is one of the most relaxing things ever. From the head-masssage-washing to the treat of someone else having to tackle my hair with a hair dryer (see no.7!) it's great to relax and in the end you get beautiful locks, sorted!

11. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Hopefully running around Paris, Rome or New York with bags full of gorgeous clothes ready to go in my huuuuuuge walk-in-wardrobe. But, in reality I just want wake-up everyday to a job that makes me smile - preferably in the fashion world, but hey - and also to have a lovely group of people around me to keep me smiling!

And now I get to nominate some of you lovely lot!

And now time for your questions...

1 - If you could only shop in one High Street shop for the rest of your life, which would it be?
2 - What one designer item is on your if-I-won-the-lottery list?
3 - What's your beauty bargain item in your skincare regime?
4 - What's you one all time favourite item of clothing that you've had for years and will never throw away and why do you love it so much?
5 - Describe your ideal weekend?
6 - If you could swap your wardrobe with anyone in the world who would it be and why?
7 - What made you want to start a blog?
8 - What's your favourite season for fashion and why?
9 - A festive one! What's your favourite stocking fillers?
10 - What are your everyday make-up essentials?
11 - What part of blogging makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside and just generally pleased with yourself?
