These Are a Few of My Favourite Things...

Here's a hint: it's not quite raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens or bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens....

It's just some lovely things that have been making me smile lately!

H&M Dresses

I'm a sucker for a lovely little dress. I always find dresses so versatile to wear - smart shoes and cardigans for work, ankle boots and fedoras for the weekend and heels and cute clutches for prosecco nights. H&M have got a fantastic selection in at the moment. The khaki shirt dress is a style that I've been seeing everywhere! I love the simple shape and I think it would also look great unbuttoned with jeans and a silky cami top. The floral number is a similar style and a pattern that's just so pretty! It's also a really nice, almost silky material that makes you feel all feminine and lovely when you wear it. Stripes, I'll never be able to resist stripes! The shape of this dress is great and it's a heavier material which means it hangs really nicely (I won't blabber on too much as I plan to include it in a special stripe themed post soon!)

New Home

We've been in our new flat for a couple of weeks now and I'm smiling every time I come home. It's such a gorgeous flat and I've loved filling it with little bits and bobs to make it feel like home (I've become obsessed with copper photo frames!) One of my favourite little corners is the one by the beautiful big living room window. The rocking chair is the ideal place to sit, reading a perfectly absorbing book, a cup of tea balanced on the arm, candles flickering and your feet up on the little tartan pouffe - bliss. I got the cushion from Santa and it's perfectly big and squichy, complete with chic embroidery to remind me of beautiful place in Switzerland. This is where you're bound to find me on chilly, but gloriously sunny, Sunday afternoons.

Chloe - Love Story

I first smelt this little gem on may way back from Switzerland and have been obsessing over it ever since. So when it just so happened that my BF was going skiing and would be back Valentines weekend I started hinting heavily at what he should buy at duty free - and turns out he does listen! Yaa! It's a really pretty, fresh, floral scent. Complete with orange blossom, cedar, neroli and jasmine, it's really feminine and elegant. "A floral love story, fresh and sensual. An unforgettable essence of seduction". I really like a light, fresh floral perfume during the day and this one imagines me on a hot summery day cradling the biggest bouquet of freshly cut flowers, dancing around Paris. Plus how pretty is the bottle! It's gorgeous parisian chic sitting on your dressing table.

Muted Make-Up

At Christmas I was treated to the most beautiful Ted Baker gift-set. It's all pink, white and rose gold and packed with pretty things. A couple of my absolute favourites from it have to be the lipstick and nail varnishes. The muted colours are just the perfect understated chic. A nude lipstick can be really hard to wear if it's the wrong shade, but I've found this one perfect and I'm wearing it all the time! It's quite a peachy shade, not too brown as nudes can be, and sits on the lips perfectly. The nail varnishes are soft, feminine and sophisticated and the soft, neutral colours are perfect for Spring time.   There's a pink, creamy shade and a beautiful muted soft grey - that reminds me of a wonderfully soft cashmere hug.

Lets Make Plans!

I love it when you have that 'I'm fantastically busy' feeling. When your diary fills up with wonderfully exciting plans it gives you a lovely excited feeling and a smug smile. It can be small things in there like 'wine night with the ladies' or 'cinema date to see that film you love' or the big things like holidays! But it just keeps you going when there's things to look forward to. I absolutely cannot wait to head to the snow soon and I'm so excited to plan a weekend for my sister coming to visit. Plus there's loads of lovely things in the meantime, pot-luck dinner and friends birthday celebrations, to keep me grinning. I also feel like I've finally got my blogging-head back on and I've got loads of plans for some posts buzzing about in there - so eyes peeled!

I Got My New Shoes On...

New shoes are always something to smile about. I saw these heels in H&M and knew I had to buy them. As soon as I spotted them I couldn't stop matching them with outfits and had to rush back to snap them up (H&M is doing really well from me lately!) I always find myself going to the same pair of black heels and they're starting to look a little worn and tired, so these are the perfect replacement! They're more like a peep-toe ankle boot and I'll definitely be wearing them time and time again. Another new favourite shoe maybe isn't quite as exciting, but I've literally been wearing them every single day so to deny my love would be wrong. The perfect flats are from Primark. I love the tassels and the suede body and the tiny raised heel just finishes them off perfectly. I think they look so much more expensive than they really are just ideal little black pumps to throw on for any occasion!
