Sometimes I Feel Like I'm In Barcelona...

So I just got back from the loveliest little trip to Barcelona...

I love Barcelona it's such a fun, buzzy city with little surprises hidden around all the corners - from food markets that can't help but make your mouth water to stretches of sandy beaches and blue sea.

We had a pretty early flight on the morning we arrived, but on the up-side this meant we had the whole day to wander around and get our bearings - whilst trying the local sangria of course. Our hotel was pretty close to La Rambla, so we strolled down the packed street taking in all the crazy sights and sounds.

Looking for, perhaps, a wee bit more of some peace and quiet we found this gorgeous square, filled with palm trees and cafes and so we chilled out people-watching.

One of the best bits on La Rambla though, has to be without a doubt the food market. It is absolutely choc-a-block with all sorts of delights. There was stalls overflowing with brightly coloured fruit and juices, as well as counter-top style restaurant-bars with the freshed food being served and to our delight some delicious wine tasting.

Denim shorts and a floaty white top are a holiday wardrobe must haves - topped off with a favourite summer scarf and sunnies and you're all set.

Holidays mean relaxing so the next day we walked down to the beach.

This is part of why Barcelona is so great - you can take in all the sights of a buzzing and busy city and then go and relax, as though you're on a calming beach holiday, ideal if you ask me! We ended up on a gorgeous sandy beach, what's better than the feeling of sand between your tootsies! The sea is perfect and blue and to top it all off Pina Coladas can be delivered to your lounger - bliss.

One night we meandered our way through the winding streets towards the Gothic quarter of the city. Here we filled up our table with all the tapas you could imagine - but the winners were definitely the mussels, they were absolutely delicious and may very well have been my favourite dish of the holiday. The setting was stunning, beside the city's cathedral and as we ate it became illuminated by the night-sky, all in all a pretty lovely evening.

This yellow dress is a firm favourite of mine and I'm not ashamed to admit I've kept a hold of it since my 18th birthday, which I first bought it for. It's a little hard to wear any other time than the summer, as it looks so good with a tan, but hey I guess this makes it a perfect holiday item. I dressed it up with this lovely necklace I got as a present - 23rd this time - and some comfy brown leather wedges - tapas outfit sorted.

(Dress - Topshop, Wedges - H&M, Necklace - a lovely little present!)

Pssssst stay tuned for some more from Barca!
