Date Night

What's better than a nice glass (or bottle) of red wine and a delicious steak frites on a Wednesday night and of course lovely company - not a lot!

So I'm realising monochrome jackets and colourful tops are perhaps something I wear too often (see previous post...) but if it ain't broke don't fix it and all that.

This particular monochrome number was an absolute steal in the Primark sale. The aztec print works well in black and white - rather than colours, which you usually see it in. Against the plan green cami the pattern of the jacket and the bright colour of the top stand-out perfectly.

The statement necklace is the gorgeous White Pentagon Cluster necklace from Coco & Cleo, it just adds an extra little bit of something to the outfit and the white looks great against the green, popping perfectly with the pentagon clusters.

To top it all off - dark denim jeans, wooden heeled boots (I know, I know, you've seen them before, but I love them!) and bright pink lips for a nod to date night.

We'd found an amazing deal on 5pm for £29.95 per couple for two steak frites and a bottle of wine at La Vallee Blanche - a pretty good bargain I think.

La Vallee Blanche is a cosy restaurant tucked away on Byres Road. It's decorated with wood panels, antler wall-mounted lights and glowing lamps, perfectly setting the scene.

The food was pretty good as well, you get an option of sauces with the steak - I went for garlic butter and the BF went for red wine jus. It was all cooked to perfection, with really tender meat and crispy frites.

After guggling down the bottle of red we made or way home to mango, greek yoghurt and honey as a little treat, while we caught up on Great British Menu (it's so addictive if you're not watching it!) and snoozed on the sofa - a lovely Wednesday evening had.
